Banteay Chhmar Temple and Mebon

Close to the international border with Thailand, the Banteay Chhmar ruins offer a fascinating glimpse on the peak of the Khmer Empire influence, its battles with neighboring kingdoms, its military organization and vast health system.

This site is developed by the local Community Tourism Organization, with support from several international bodies such as Global Heritage Fund and Heritage Watch.
