Sophiline Arts Ensemble

'Sophiline Arts Ensemble (formerly Khmer Arts Ensemble) is an internationally renowned classical dance and music company that is based at the Khmer Arts Theater in Takhmao, Kandal Province, an important international center for creativity, education, exchange and performance.'

The Ensemble specializes in developing the groundbreaking choreography of Sophiline Cheam Shapiro and others and in performing these works on major stages throughout the world.

The company has produced many books and films on Cambodian performing arts, past and present, including Kbach Bat Neang, a documented study on kbach (hand gestures, or mudra) in classical Khmer Dance by Menh Kossany, a former star dancer and a senior dance teacher.
