Ngô Văn Doanh (Hanoi, 1949) is a Vietnamese archaeologist, social scientist and cultural researcher specializing in the history of Champa [Chăm Pa, Cham culture] and Tây Nguyên [Central Highlands]. 

While obtaining a PhD in Medieval History at Moscow Lenin University (1984), he was professor of archaeology and history at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies, the Vietnamese Institute of Social Sciences, from 1974 until his retirement in 2014. 

A member of the National Council for Cultural Heritage, Ngô Văn Doanh has conducted field research related to culture and oral traditions of the Cham people and ethnic minorities such as the Jarai [Giarai] and the Bahnar [Bờhnar] In 2002 he published a book, Champa Ancient Towers: Reality and Legend on Champa architecture and legend, Hanoi, Thế Giới Publishers, 2002.
