Charles Keyes
Charles Keyes is Professor Emeritus of Anthropology, and until 2006 director of the Northwest Regional Consortium for Southeast Asian Studies at the University of Washington, Seattle, USA.
He is the author of numerous articles and several books, including The Golden Peninsula: Culture and Adaptation in Mainland Southeast Asia, and Thailand: Buddhist Kingdom as Modern Nation-State.
In 1988 and 1989, Charles Keyes led delegations on behalf of the Joint Committee on Southeast Asia of the Social Science Research Council and the American Council of Learned Societies to Cambodia to explore the possibility of cooperation between scholars and institutions in Cambodia and the United States.
