Denman Waldo Ross

Denman Waldo Ross (1853 – 1935) was an American painter, art collector, and scholar of art history who was a tenant of the “pure design” theory.
A professor of art at Harvard University and a trustee of the Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, he gathered a huge private collection of Asian Art.
Prof. Marie Frank published in 2011 an essay on Damian Ross and American Design Theory (Univeristy of New England Press, 278 p.).
