Heejung Kang
Kang Heejung is the Director of the Institute for East Asian Studies and professor of the Graduate Program in Southeast Asian Studies at Sogang University, Korea, specializing in Buddhist Art History of East Asia and Southeast Asia.
With a Ph.D. degree in Art History at Seoul National University, she has published several books, including Palace of Opium and Tin, Stories of Awkward Oriental Art 1, 2, and 3, and New Approach to the East Asian Buddhist Art: Women and the Afterlife in the Buddhist Art.
Hang Heejung served in various expert committees in the Presidential Committee on New Southern Policy, the Advisory Council on Science and Technology. Recently she has been a member of the Special Committee of Humanities Policy at The National Research Council for Economics, Humanities, and Social Sciences and Chief Editor of The Journal of Association of Asian Art History.
