Ian W. Mabbett
Ian William Mabbett (b. 27 Apr 1939, London, UK) is a historian and educator whose research focuses on history of religions and social organization, in particular Buddhism and Hinduism.
A honorary professor at Aichi Bunkyo University, Aichi, Japan, I.W. Mabbett has also taught at Princeton University (USA), and has been teaching historical studies at Monash University, Clayton, Australia, since 2003.
Among his publications are Patterns of Kingship and Authority in Traditional Asia (1985); Kings and Emperors of Asia (1985); The Khmers (with David Chandler, 1995), The Sociology of Early Buddhism (2003) and Conceiving The Goddess (with Jayant Bhalchandra Bapat, 2016).
