Michel Lorillard
Michel Lorrillard (1966, Boulay, France) received his doctorate from the École Pratique des Hautes Études, Paris. He joined the EFEO in 1997 and was appointed director of its Chiang Mai (1999−2000) and Vientiane (2000−2011) centers.
Between 2001 and 2009, he conducted systematic surveys across the provinces of Laos, leading to the discovery of numerous manuscripts, inscriptions, and archaeological remains linked mainly with Khmer and Mon cultures of the Middle Mekong valley predating the foundation of the first Lao kingdom.
