Francois Pierre Sauvaire Comte [Earl] de Barthélémy (10 May 1870, Paris, France — 28 Oct. 1940) was a French explorer and writer who headed the Mission Barthélemy to Laos in 1894 – 6.

After overtaking a trip around the world in 1892 – 3, he joined the French Army in then Indochina, assigned by the French Ministry of Public Education to several geographical, ethnographical and economical studies. He was a member of the Académie des sciences d’outré-mer since 1924.
