Robert Chauvelot

Robert Chauvelot (17 March 1878, Paris — 8 Nov. 1937, Neuilly sur Seine) was a French lawyer, journalist, novelist, explorer and composer who visited Cambodia and Angkor around 1924, part of an extended trip across the Far East.

A member of the Conseil supérieur des Colonies (Grand Council of the Colonies) and a professor at Paris College des sciences sociales (Ethnography section), he also visited India, South America, the West Indies, Africa and Oceania. He contributed to several French newspapers, in particular Le Petit Journal.
