Quoc Nam Tran
Tran Quoc Nam (1962, Phnom Penh) is a freelance researcher based in Saigon. His main interest is history and language in relation to exchanges between the Vietnamese and the Khmer cultural spheres.
When his family was expelled from Cambodia in 1970 due to the ‘Cap Duon’ policy implemented by the Lon Nol régime, they settled in Ho Chi Minh City, where he studied Russian and History at HMC University. He worked as a Khmer-Vietnamese interpreter in Kampong Cham, Cambodia, from 1980 to 1983.
