Willem Wolters
Willem Wolters is professor emeritus of economic anthropology, Radboud University Nijmegen, the Netherlands.
With a PhD with the University of Amsterdam, he has done anthropological fieldwork in the Philippines and Indonesia.
His publications include: Politics, patronage and class conflict in Central Luzon (1983) and ‘Uneven impact and regional responses; The Philippines in the 1930s depression’ (in: Peter Boomgaard and Ian Brown (eds), Weathering the storm; The economics of Southeast Asia in the 1930s depression (Singapore 2000)). He is presently working on the history of money and credit in the Philippines and Indonesia.
