King Sisowath (ព្រះបាទស៊ីសុវតិ្ថ, 1840 – 1927) had brought the dancers of the Royal Ballet to France during his official journey in 1904. A few years later, French filmmakers were invited to attend a representation in Angkor, a privilege since the Royal Ballet performances were usually restricted to the King and his entourage.
