Hello Angkor
Highly recommended website on ancient history and current state of architectural landmarks, as well as on the life going around them.
“Combining clear maps with deeper insight on the ancient sites of the Khmer Empire, the history, attractions, culture, and more,” [from the site’s presentation], Hello Angkor is an impressive online resource single-handed by researcher Rodney Charles LHuillier.
The quality of photographs, combined to in-depth information on temples in the Angkor area, expanding to Phnom Penh, Oudong and as far as Mondulkiri. “Activities” are covered in addition to the research on the temples.
There are also “trails” displayed, like the attempt to find more about Henri Parmentier’s exploration of the Baray-Santuk area in the 1930s, led in Sept. 2023. And he “search” function is commendable.
Note: Rodney Charles L’Huillier has also authored with Chanthim Suon Ancient Cambodia, Ferry Road Publishing, 2024, 734 p ISBN-13 978 – 0645954609.
