Vietnamica ERC

Launched online in 2021, Vietnamica – History, Epigraphy and Digital Humanities : Research on Stelae Inscriptions and Documentary History is a program funded by European Research Council (ERC) and bringing together researchers and students from the École Pratique des Hautes Études, the Institute of Hán-Nôm Studies in Hanoi (Vietnamese Academy of Social Sciences) and the University of Social Sciences and Humanities (Vietnam National University).

Initially focusing on processing rubbings of ancient inscriptions an thousands of donation stelae erected in Vietnamese villages from the 16th to the 20th century, written in Chinese and vernacular scripts, Vietnamica has started to digitize entire collections of publications such as Le Bulletin des Amis du Vieux Hué (BAVH) and Le Bulletin de la Société des Etudes Indochinoises (BSEI), as well as monographs and books (fiction and history) in French and Vietnamese.
