On a peaceful alley off Apsara Road, Preah Norodom Sihanouk-Angkor Museum សារៈមន្ទីរព្រះនរោត្តម សីហនុ-អង្គរ has been hosting archaeological finds from Angkor Archaeological Park since 2007, as well as artefacts found by villagers in the area.
A joint venture established on 2 November 2007 by APSARA Authority (ANA) and Sophia University (Tokyo) with funds from AEON Company, the elegant building in Modern Khmer style underwent structural renovation in 2016 – 2017.
The museum hosts some major archaeological finds in recent years, including the discarded Buddhist statues from Banteay Kdei, the sacred turtles from Sra Srang and, since September 2024, the dvarapala statue found at Banteay Prey បន្ទាយព្រៃ (Citadel of the Forest), buried 80 cm deep into the ground. Banteay Prei, north of Preah Khan on the way to Neak Poan, is one of the most enigmatic temples built under the reign of Jayavarman VII, in Bayon style.
In June 2024, the museum held an exhibition of artefacts (iron broaches, coins…) found by the villagers living in the Angkor Archaeological Park area.
